Excessive detail for lead?
[edit]How is Linux porting company an "excessive detail for lead"? — Bahaltener (talk) 23:37, 1 January 2019 (UTC)
Merge accolades list
[edit]Per recent discussions ([1] [2] [3]) on standalone accolades lists, I think List of accolades received by BioShock Infinite should be merged back into this article. The table is far too short to warrant a separate article per WP:SPLIT. The relevant guideline is at WP:VG/AWARDS. Axem Titanium (talk) 00:00, 3 June 2020 (UTC)
- Support The net delta (losing one para on this page with the added table here) is small enough to not be a problem. --Masem (t) 14:39, 3 June 2020 (UTC)
Cleanup and merging Development of BioShock Infinite
[edit]The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on the appropriate discussion page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.
Taking a look at the article as it now stands, this article is around 58KB (nearing 10K words), so I understand why Development of BioShock Infinite (itself 9000 words) was spun out back in 2013. However I think with a stricter following of summary style these would be better served merged. The parent article has a lot of dead weight to cut (the plot section alone runs 1800 words, which even for Infinite's plot is excessive; the gameplay section runs into such minute detail that it can be trimmed, and there's an entire list of accolades now in list form that's mostly repeating prose, so the latter can get cut.) I'll be working on the trims this month, but I wanted another set of opinions on whether to merge (I think the info in the Development article can definitely be trimmed, and some of the stuff, like the minute details on trailers/announcements, etc, probably isn't appropriate either.) Der Wohltemperierte Fuchs talk 23:44, 31 December 2021 (UTC)
- I don't see a problem if we're not at a size problem after a merge. As you say, right now we're past what SIZE recommends for one article if it was a direct merge, but if 25% of the combined articles can be cut, we're probably at a reasonable length. --Masem (t) 00:41, 1 January 2022 (UTC)
Reappraisal
[edit]At this point we're down to just under 50KB here, having integrated and summarized the content from Development of BioShock Infinite. I think it's reasonable to just redirect it at this point. Der Wohltemperierte Fuchs talk 17:09, 31 January 2023 (UTC)
